Case Study

The Brief

A financial institution needed a proposal for their most prestigious credit card service: an invitation kit to send to their VIP customers, including a welcome letter, a card face design, and a welcome pack.

The target audience for this specific card is among the top 10% of their customer base. The institution itself has great history in banking and the financial world, and has great wealth to pass down. Therefore the brief emphasized heavily on words like “high-end“ and “prestigious”.

The client want to provide a service that can take care of their customers financial problems all around. Such as consultant service for investment, tax, assets allocation, stock…etc, and regular banking services with benefits.

Through the brief we got to know this brand as being very traditional in the past with its history, but wanted to move forward to be known as “young”, “energetic”, and “innovative”.

The logo of the brand consists of square and triangles, with the primary color being indigo blue. The square represents reliability, steadiness, trustworthiness; and the triangles represent confidence, professional, and ambition. As part of their ESG policy, the design needs to consider sustainability.

 
 
 

Titanium: the incarnation of natural strength

After digesting the brief and brainstorming ideas with the team, I got to the concept to aim at combining sustainability and wealth. I started with researching materials that are more recyclable, and I landed on titanium.

It is not only light, strong but also corrosion-resistant, so it is often used in the production of flight equipment in the aerospace and aviation industries. This feature represents the brand’s solid and trustworthy service.

I decided to utilize titanium throughout the design, from the card itself to the invitation box design, so that it can be reused and ultimately recycled, leading to my proposal concept—sustainable wealth.

I incorporated a minimal design for the card, signaling the brand progressing towards a sleek, young future.

I took inspiration from the logo, incorporating triangles throughout the design, which represents the brand’s confidence and ambition.
